For the dogs who don't fit traditional day cares.
I noticed there weren't many Cambridge pet care choices for dogs who don't enjoy big groups or busy daycare settings. I wanted to change that, by offering calm, private services that enrich your dog one-on-one.
Our care is perfect for anxious or reactive pets
Created by a local pet parent
6 years ago, I got two pet cockatiels. I wanted to train my birds, but there aren't many resources for training parrots. Instead read dog training books. This was the start of my journey into the world of animal training.
I started to walk dogs for free. Then, I started working casually at a doggy daycare where I got hands-on experience with canine behaviour and managing large groups of dogs. I have gotten the chance to work with many breeds, sizes, and temperaments of dogs, including anxious and reactive dogs.
On my journey, I learnt that a lot of dog trainers and resources online have outdated methods involving 'asserting dominance' on your dog, or even outright hurting them. I wanted to create a positive, stress-free and pain-free learning environments where animals feel safe.
What guides my work.
Kindness always
I use force-free techniques on every animal in my care. All pets deserve gentle and positive care, no matter their quirks or background. I only approach animals on their own terms, and I will never force an animal to interact with me if they don't want to.
Customer first approach
We can always sit down and have a chat, whether you’re a new or existing client. Support for pets goes beyond just walking. I’m always willing to answer your questions or share helpful pet care tips for you and your animals.
Trust
I understand it’s a big decision to trust someone with your pet and home. That’s why I always arrange a friendly, no-obligation meeting before any booking, so you can ask questions, share your routines, and make sure I’m the right person for your pet.
Police checks and references provided on request.
Ongoing learning and professional development
I highly value ongoing learning. I read books and follow respected trainers so I can bring new ideas into my work and offer advice that’s practical and safe. This means your pet will always be looked after with care that reflects the most current, humane practises in the industry.
My future plans include:
Attaining SPCA certifications for my business
Fear-free training courses
Attending KPA courses
Becoming a member of APDTNZ
